SOG perform songs from todays artists such as Bruno Mars, Maroon 5 and Camila Cabello to old school greats like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Susan Tedeschi. The 5 piece band is a highly talented, dedicated and professional team of musicians who have a combination of over thirty years of experience in the music industry who have performed with many professional bands and spent hours in the recording studio. Leah - Vocals - Leah is a dynamic and charismatic performer. She is a skilled and energetic vocalist with musical taste that span across many different genres who injects passion into everything she does. Taking people on a journey through musical expression is something Leah strives for with every note played.
Jimmy Hooten - Vocals/Bass - Jimmy is the founding member and bassist in Sons of Groove. He's played in several local bands and enjoys laying down the funk.
Stan O'Daffer - Keys - From Illinois, studied music at ISU where he learned composition and jazz performance. He has performed with and recorded on many Minneapolis recordings over the years working in all the major studios in town...Paisley Park, Studio M, Metro, Creation, Tricord, Terrarium. Stylistically he has worked with artist ranging from "Minneapolis Sound", Ingid Chavez to classic Jazz Commodores to Marnie Jones forging an eclectic musical style.
Bill Katsiyiannis - Drums - Born/Grew up - Chicago. Playing drums since age 10. Played in school concert band/orchestra/jazz band throughout high school. Music Major - percussion/composition Northern Illinois University.Played drums in numerous jazz, pop, and rock bands in Chicago and St. Louis. After studying music Bill went on to a career in medicine while still finding plenty of time for music.
